From The Principal's Desk

This week is Teacher & Certificated Staff Appreciation Week!

At Endeavour, we are incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by educators and staff who care deeply, give generously of themselves, and work tirelessly to make school a joyful place for ALL kids. They are more than just educators—they are daily inspirations to our students, and to their principal.

If you appreciate your child’s teacher, a quick email or kind note truly goes a long way. 💚
And let’s not forget the incredible team that supports our students every day—our Special education teachers, Specialists, Nurse, Dean, and Counselor. Each of these amazing individuals brings heart, dedication, and inspiration to our school community.

Every one of them makes a difference, and every one of them is so deserving of our gratitude.

Warmly,
Tamara

Parent Input on Class Placement

Dear Families,

Very soon, our staff will begin considering student classroom placement for the 2026-2027 school year.   Parent information is a valuable factor in the student placement process. You know your child well and have insights that may ensure a productive year.

Class placement is a complex process in which we consider the following factors: parent input, student performance, behavior patterns, balanced boy/girl ratios, special needs of students, balanced abilities in the classroom, staff observations/input, class size equalization, compatibility of students.

If you choose to give input into your child’s 2026-2027 classroom placement, tell us about your child and let us know which type of classroom you would or would not like to see your child placed in next year.  Please do NOT request a specific teacher. Each year there are staffing changes and teachers who may move to different grade levels. Rather than requesting a specific teacher by name, we need to know about the type of classroom environment  you feel best matches your child’s needs (e.g. high structure, more flexibility, etc.).

Please note that unexpected enrollment in a grade level can occasionally require changes after the school year has begun.  Children may need to be moved to another class after the opening of school to ensure balanced classes.  We do our best to project our enrollment, but we are sometimes surprised by unexpected changes.  We, like all schools in Washington, have to wait to see the final count of students actually attending.  We appreciate your understanding if these changes have to occur.

Forms must be submitted by Friday, May 15th. Late forms may not be accepted.

The Golden Feather

Our Golden Feather Award is given each month to an Endeavour support staff member who goes above and beyond for our school community. Our Golden Feather Award this month was given to our amazing Connections Paraeducator, Ms.Jacky! Ms. Jacky is known for her enthusiasm, kindness and strong connections to kids.

This is what one of her colleagues said about her, “Jacky is a great team player, and we are so lucky to have her. She always puts the student’s needs first, in the most caring way.”

Endeavour is grateful for Ms. MJacky, every day!

Parking Lot

We need your help! Please be respectful in the parking lot. Our kids are watching, and we need adults to model how to handle frustration with patience and kindness.

As a reminder:
  • We have hundreds of cars entering in the morning and exiting in the afternoon. Thank you for your patience during these busy times.
  • When using the drop-off line, please fill both lanes and then take turns merging in a zipper fashion.
  • Families in our Connections Program have a different drop-off location and will need to drive around the cones to access the far side of the school.
  • Please be respectful and avoid honking at others—you may not know the reason they are moving in a different direction.
Thank you for helping keep our school safe, respectful, and positive for all of our Eagles.
A graphic thanks viewers for helping the school be SAFE, RESPONSIBLE, and RESPECTFUL for all Eagles.

Counselor's Corner

Hi parents,
Spring is finally upon us and seems to be sticking around. We’re all excited for the warm weather and opportunities to spend more time outside. To help our eagles enjoy their spring and summer activities to the fullest, we’ll be learning ways to stay safe. I will be teaching the Second Step Child Protection Unit in grades 1-5 for the remainder of the school year.

Personal Safety. Students will learn important safety rules, such as safety with guns, sharp tools and fire, water safety and when riding on wheels or in cars. They will also learn ways to help them decide if something is safe or not.

Assertiveness. These lessons will also give students a chance to practice asking an adult for help (REPORT), telling an adult about an unsafe situation (RECOGNIZE), and being assertive to get out of unsafe situations (REFUSE).

They will practice  the three ways to stay safe if a situation is unsafe : Recognize, Refuse, Report, the 8 Never Never Rules and other safety rules. We will also discuss  safe and unsafe/ unwanted  touches.

Your child may bring home Home Links to help you understand what he or she is learning about safety at school and to give your child another chance to practice safety skills. As always, please reach out if you have any questions.

Warm regards,
Mrs. Mensah
