From the Principals Desk
Dear Families,

We've had a wonderful beginning to the new school year! Our theme for this year is "Belong, Connect, and Grow!" We believe that meaningful relationships are the foundation of effective learning. When individuals—both young and old—feel valued, recognized, and part of a community, their ability to learn can truly thrive. Throughout the year, we will focus on enhancing connections among our staff, students, and families, and we will intentionally engage students in opportunities that promote their growth.

Thank you to everyone who attended our Family Engagement Conferences and the PTA Back to School Party last week. Both events provided fantastic chances for our community to CONNECT!

As I embark on my third year at Endeavour, I am deeply thankful for our wonderful families and the support and partnership you bring to our school community.

With gratitude,
Tamara

Disability Awareness Month
Disability History and Awareness Month (RCW 28A.230.158) takes place during October to increase awareness, respect, and acceptance for people with disabilities, and to bring a greater sense of pride to people with disabilities. At Endeavour we believe each one of us is uniquely gifted, and deserve respect and understanding.

Did you know 26% of Americans are disabled, but disabled main characters only appear in 3.4% of children’s books? Here is a list of 20 books starring disabled characters: Disability Awareness Month Books.

One of the many ways we will be honoring Disability Month at Endeavour is through a school Spirit Week, Oct. 14th - 18th. Our spirit days will be as follows:

  • Monday: College Shirt Day - Everyone’s future is bright!
  • Tuesday: Jersey Day - Tackling our differences!
  • Wednesday: Neon Day - Highlighting our unique strengths!
  • Thursday: Eagle Spirit Day - We all belong to the same team!
  • Friday (No School): Family Chat Day - Share with your family a difference you have that makes you special.

Counselors Corner
To all our new eagle families, I hope you’re settling into our school community just fine. I am your counselor, Mrs. Mensah, and I look forward to connecting with you. I’m excited to begin my second year at Endeavour as I deepen connections with our students and families.

This year as a school, we’ll be learning more about our feelings and healthy ways to manage those big emotions when we have them. We will be using the Zones of Regulation program to identify all kinds of feelings and tools that help us get to and stay in the green zone where we’re ready to learn. I’ll be sharing additional resources you may use with your student at home, stay tuned for more! And remember, all the zones are OKAY!

Updates and Reminders
Breakfast and Lunch: Our school meal menus have gone digital! Lunch and breakfast menus will no longer be sent home with students and will, instead, be available online and in our newsletter. Breakfast and Lunch will continue to be free to students for the 2024-2025 school year. Click here for the October Menu.

Classroom Celebrations: Many of our students are lucky to have their birthdays fall during the school year, which of course leads to wanting to celebrate in the classroom! Here are a few reminders if your child wants to celebrate in their classroom this year:

  • Please consult with your child's teacher prior to sending any treats (edible or inedible). Party goodies can be a distraction and may disrupt valuable learning time if our educators are unprepared.
  • All snacks or desserts must be store bought in original packaging. All juices must be canned or bottled and unopened. Severe food allergies exist among many classrooms. Consulting with the teacher reduces the risk of accidental exposure to food allergens.
  • Many teachers discourage or do not allow edible treats in the classroom. Please consider sending favor bags/boxes instead.

Contact our office if you have questions or concerns

From the Healthroom
Introducing Nurse Sarah Cossette and Daphne Baird, our wonderful and caring health room team ready to comfort and care for all Endeavour Eagles. Please read below how you can help our health room:

  • Cold and Flu season is inching it's way closer and closer. Please remember that students are not allowed to carry any medications at school including; Cough drops, Tums, etc. All medications need to be approved through the health room.

  • Clothing Drive: If you have any new or gently used clothing that you might wish to donate (particularly boys pants and underwear) consider bringing to our health room!

Arrival and Dismissal
Student arrival begins at 8:40 am daily:
  • First Bell is at 8:50 am
  • Students enter classrooms at 8:55 am
  • Students must be in their seats by 9:00 am to be marked present. If your child misses their line entering class, students must report to the office to check in and/or receive a tardy pass.
Dismissal times are as follows:
  • 3:25 pm Monday-Thursday
  • 2:10 pm Friday
Expectations:
  • At drop off and pick up, when you turn into the parking lot, we need to form TWO LINES of cars. This will help prevent additional back up onto Harbour Pointe Boulevard.
  • Once you reach the stop sign, it will go EVERY OTHER CAR as you turn into the single lane (Zipper merge).
  • Slow down and pay attention to our hard-working flaggers. They have a BIG job and deserve to be safe and treated with respect.
If we are each willing to work together and do our part, our drop off and pick-up will be smoother and safer for all.
